Length of Initial Terms Following First Home Rule Election
The Home Rule Charter, P. L.. 93-198, Section 401, (4), gave the Board of Elections the authority to pull lots, to ensure staggered elections in the first Home Rule Election. Half of the terms lasted for four years, while the others lasted for two years.
