Application Processing

Interested persons submit an application to the Board of Elections. The application which is reviewed and the following information is verified:

  • Residency
  • Registration status
  • Age

Applicant is notified by mail
  • That their application has been received and processed,
  • That they will be scheduled for an interview, (if held separately from orientation)
  • That they must attend an orientation class; the schedule is included so that they can call to set-up their preferred class time.

Orientation Program
  • Applicant is provided general information on the District's Voting System (using the "Election Day Worker's Orientation Booklet").
  • A quiz is given to test applicant's interest in the work and retention abilities.
  • Applicants passing the quiz, will be invited to complete a formal application, (which is used to place them on the database).

Training Program

Persons successfully completing the Orientation program will attend a mandatory training session on the duties and responsibilities of each member of the polling place team.
