Application Processing
Interested persons submit an application to the Board of Elections. The application which is reviewed and the following information is verified:
- Residency
- Registration status
- Age
Applicant is notified by mail
- That their application has been received and processed,
- That they will be scheduled for an interview, (if held separately from orientation)
- That they must attend an orientation class; the schedule is included so that they can call to set-up their preferred class time.
Orientation Program
- Applicant is provided general information on the District's Voting System (using the "Election Day Worker's Orientation Booklet").
- A quiz is given to test applicant's interest in the work and retention abilities.
- Applicants passing the quiz, will be invited to complete a formal application, (which is used to place them on the database).
Training Program
Persons successfully completing the Orientation program will attend a mandatory training session on the duties and responsibilities of each member of the polling place team.
