Election Year 2016
- The District of Columbia will hold a general election on November 8, 2016.
The following contests will appear on the ballot for the general election:
- Electors of President and Vice President of the United States
- Delegate to the U.S. House of Representatives
- At-Large Members of the Council of the District of Columbia (two to be elected)
- Wards 2, 4, 7 and 8 Members of the Council of the District of Columbia
- United States Representative (Shadow Representative)
- At-Large Member of the State Board of Education
- Wards 2, 4, 7 and 8 Members of the State Board of Education
- Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner
- Advisory Referendum on DC Statehood
- Eligible voters:
All registered voters in the District of Columbia are eligible to vote.
- Where and when to vote:
You can vote early, by mail or at your assigned polling place on Election Day.

Requests for an absentee ballot must be received by November 1, 2016. An absentee ballot request form can be submitted here. Ballots must be received by the Board by 8:00 p.m. on election day November 8, 2016.
